License to Carry Shooting Proficiency Test

Proficiency Test Info

  • Must already know how to use a handgun safely.
  • “Learn How to Shoot” training can be added during checkout.
  • Instructor will complete Part B & Part C of certificate at end of session.
  • 50 rounds fired during the qualification test.
  • Score of 70% (175 out of 250) required to pass.
  • No holster or concealed shooting required.

What to Bring

  • Range Fee (paid upon arrival)
  • LTC 104 Certificate
  • 1 Handgun (no laser optics)
  • 50 Rounds of Ammunition (brass)
  • Driver’s License or State ID
  • Ear & Eye Protection (provided if needed)

All class fees are NON REFUNDABLE and do not include the state application fee. Class completion does not guarantee a License to Carry will be approved. The Texas Department of Public Safety makes the final decision based on their guidelines.
